MATHESON, Ont. — Provincial police said Thursday one man is dead following an accident at a mine in northeastern Ontario.The incident happened around 5 p.m. Wednesday on the surface at the Holt Mining Project, about 60 kilometres east of Matheson on Highway 101, near the Quebec border.Police say the man’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.The coroner’s office has been advised of the death and police say a post-mortem examination will be scheduled.The scene is being held under the control of provincial police, who are working with Ministry of Labour to investigate the incident.The Holt Mining Project is an operation of St Andrews Gold Ltd.
