Dominicans urged to reject Linton and his ‘stolen words’

first_img Share Tweet Share Share Sharing is caring!center_img LocalNews Dominicans urged to reject Linton and his ‘stolen words’ by: – September 11, 2014 233 Views   no discussions President of the Dominica Labour Party, Petter Saint Jean has called on Dominican citizens to “reject” the political leader of the Opposition United Workers Party (UWP), Lennox Linton.Speaking at the Dominica Labour Party’s (DLP) ‘Dominica Deserve Better, Lennox Linton Must Go’ public meeting in Lagoon on September 11, 2014, Mr Saint Jean said Dominica does not deserve a leader who “steals other people’s words”.It was revealed earlier this week that Mr Linton used excerpts from a speech presented by the leader of the United Workers Party in St. Lucia, Allan Chastanet on two separate occasions. The first was in Mr Linton’s inaugural speech as UWP Leader on September 1, 2014 and last week in an article reflecting on his first year as leader.Mr Saint Jean told a large crowd of Labourites on Thursday evening; Mr Linton should be rejected because “integrity is not communication”.“Lennox Linton had to steal words from Allan Chastanet that Chastanet had already used…Chastanet had written the words for St. Lucia and not for Dominica”.“Linton is not real, he is a fake, he is a counterfeit, in fact Lennox is a boman politician,” Mr Saint Jean said adding that Mr Linton used “hand me down words from a failed leader”.Mr Saint Jean noted that this incident of plagiarism “could never” happen with Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit or any DLP minister.“This could never happen here…Skerrit is a good fearing man, a man of integrity, Skerrit will not steal but Linton is stealing bowman words to put them in an inaugural speech”.He added that Mr Skerrit is a man of integrity who would never allow any of his ministers to betray Dominicans trust by plagiarizing.“Linton is a lying politician, it is simply too much to think about, it is simply too grave, it is simply wrong”.“When it is wrong we must say it is wrong and when it is right we must say it is right. Linton has stolen, it is wrong and so the United Workers Party must ask Linton to resign,” Mr Saint Jean said. “My simple advice is this; reject Lennox Linton and his stolen words, reject Linton with his bowman words. He is a thief and we cannot trust him with the Treasury of Dominica,” he stated.– / 5Dominica Vibes Newslast_img read more
